Scott Nielson and Nielson RV received the Patriotic Employer Award from the Utah Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve for going above and beyond the normal duties required of employers under the Uniformed Service Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act.
The ESGR is a Department of Defense agency comprised of dedicated and trained volunteers who develop and promote employer support for the Guard and Reserve of all 7 branches of the Military.
Captain Cory L. Condie has served through multiple deployments while working at Nielson RV, some with only three days’ notice. The understanding and flexibility of the Nielson RV staff has always assured soldiers like Captain Condie they have a welcome workplace when they arrive back home.
“Thank You Captain Condie for nominating Nielson RV for the Patriot Award,” Nielson said. “…I always felt there should be a law that protects veterans’ rights of employment. That when they get called to serve our great country, or offer relief like Captain Condie did, to serve the people of Houston during the hurricanes, that they would have a job when they return home, their families are taken care of, and benefits and pay plans still remain in effect. I would think that cooperation between employer and government could put into action protections for our valued veterans that continue to serve this great nation. I like to think of it as us paying tribute to the men and women who bravely serve in our nation’s armed forces. God bless America!”
